Rebecca is 33 weeks along here (due in early February 2012) and photos were shot in lovely Old Town, Alexandria. Along for the ride was her sweet husband James. Congrats to both of them and I can’t wait to meet their little boy!

Family shoot
I’ve taken family photos of this particular adorable family before but this is the first time both their little boys were exceptionally mobile. We took to the playground and baseball field for the shoot. These are a couple of my favorites.

Newborn baby Douglas
Having shot Doug and Ingrid’s wedding and then Ingrid’s maternity photos, I couldn’t wait to take pictures of their newborn son. The little guy is just adorable, born over 9 lbs in the beginning of August, this summer love is the perfect addition to big sis Lauren. I shot these at the couple’s home. Ingrid has just one more month to go until her little boy arrives. She was wonderful to shoot – a beautiful mama, glowing in the beauty of her almost-here little babe. Here are a couple of my favorites and here’s a link to a few more.
Using a self-timer
I’d love to replicate myself every now and again when it comes to photography so I can have some good photos of my little girl and I. Until then I try to be creative when it comes to propping up my camera and using the self-timer. For this shot, I propped up my camera on two folded up sheets and pillow cases and set the time for 10 seconds then had fun with my little one.

Happy Mother’s Day!
Mothers are amazing creatures and we should honor them every day but today is an extra special day to honor those women who gave us life and loved us through good and bad times. I’ve had the opportunity to take lots of photos of moms with their kids so today I’ll share some of my favorites!
